Job Description The candidate will participate in the testing of data application solutions for GEMS two-way radio systems by developing and executing application level tests and supporting system level testing. The candidate will participate in the testing of data applications in both small and large system designs that involve multiple configurations as defined by multi-generation system release roadmaps. The testing of specific localizations of globalized software will also be performed. The primary responsibility for this candidate will be the development (both Test Plans and Test Cases) and execution of acceptance and integration tests for location services and/or text messaging applications. This will include functional, performance tests, and API/protocol level tests. Developing test software, possibly involving automated test software, will also be part of the candidate’s responsibilities. The candidate will communicate with various development team members and technical staff to ensure that test requirements and limitations are understood, accounted for, and appropriately acted upon. The candidate will also participate in the continuous improvement of the development process. Specific Knowledge: Minimum of a BSEE degree or equivalent. Demonstrated test plan, test case, and test execution ability is required. Domain knowledge in the area of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and/or text messaging protocols is desirable. Experience in testing localized software is desired. Software development skills and familiarity with Windows environment and Windows development tools is also desirable. The ability to work as a team member, with strong inter-personal and communications (written/verbal) skills, is required.
